A new F1 driver needs 40 super licence eligibility points, earned by championship finishing position across the current and previous two seasons. This tracks the 2026 support-series drivers and what their position is worth.
Eligibility points by finishing position. F2: 40, 40, 40, 30, 20, 10, 8, 6, 4, 3. F3: 30, 25, 20, 15, 12, 9, 7, 5, 3, 2. Banked points from earlier seasons are shown only where confirmed, so some drivers will hold more than shown here. Up to 10 extra points can come from F1 practice running. FIA penalty points on every 2026 F1 driver's licence. Points drop off 12 months after they were issued; 12 live points means a one-race ban.
Dates are when each point expires. Pick a future date above to see each driver's balance once older points fall away. Sources: PlanetF1 penalty points tracker, Mexico FP2 stewards' decision.
One short email after each Grand Prix: new penalty points, who is closest to a ban, and which junior drivers moved closer to 40 points.
